Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), one of the largest coking coal producers in Russia, has announced that in the first half of the current year its raw coal production volume rose by 15 percent compared to the same period of last year to 3.961 million mt.

In the second quarter this year, Raspadskaya's raw coal production decreased by 25 percent compared to the previous quarter to 1.7 million mt, mainly due to the temporary suspension of mining works at the Raspadskaya underground mine and the scheduled repositioning of a longwall at the underground mine MUK-96.

In the January-June period of this year, Raspadskaya's coal concentrate sales volume increased by 36 percent year on year, surpassing 2.7 million mt. In the second quarter of the year, the coal concentrate sales volume decreased by only five percent quarter on quarter to 1.326 million mt, supported by deliveries from stockpiles.
