Raspadskaya’s coal output down 18% in Q1

Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), one of the largest coking coal producers in Russia, has announced that in the first quarter this year its raw coal production volume declined by 18 percent compared to the same period of last year to 1.857 million mt.

In the given period, concentrate sales decreased by 23 percent to 1.076 million mt, while hard coking coal sales went up by 206 percent to 261,000 mt, year on year.
 
During the first quarter, according to Raspadskaya's statement, export sales volumes decreased by eight percent to 458,000 mt, while domestic sales volumes declined by 31 percent to 618,000 mt, on year-on-year basis.
 
In 2013, Raspadskaya's coal production volume had increased by 12 percent compared to 2012 to 7.824 million mt.
