PSI to supply planning module for OMK’s plate mill at Vyksa

PSI AG, a Germany-based supplier of software solutions and complete systems used in process management, has announced that it has been contracted by German plantmaker SMS Siemag with the delivery of the solution PSImetals Planning for the new heavy plate rolling mill of Russian steel and pipe producer OMK group at its pipemaking subsidiary Vyksa Steel Works (Vyksa).

With the new 1.2 million mt capacity heavy plate rolling mill, planned to be commissioned in Q2 2011, Vyksa will enter into the production of heavy plate for the manufacture of long-seam welded pipes. The start of operations of the PSI solution is planned for the end of 2011.
