UK-based plantmaker Primetals Technologies has announced that it has started up an Arvedi Endless Strip Production (ESP) line at a Chinese steel producer in Hebei Province. The company name is not mentioned in the statement.

The line has an annual production capacity of 2.55 million mt of hot rolled strip.

This new ESP line, which allows the steel producer to further expand its production capacity of high-grade strip and cold rolled substitutes, reduces energy consumption by up to 50 percent compared to conventional casting and rolling processes, while its carbon emissions stemming from production are reduced to zero.
