On Friday, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the preliminary results of its administrative review of stainless steel bar from India

The review originally covered two Indian producers/exporters-Ambica Steels Limited and Mukand, Ltd.-during the period from February 1, 2011 through January 31, 2012.  However, the request for review of one these companies-Mukand-was withdrawn, and the DOC rescinded the review of Mukand.

The DOC has preliminarily calculated a weighted-average dumping margin of 0.00 (zero) percent for Ambica Steels.  The current dumping duty deposit rate for Ambica Steels is also 0.00 percent.

The DOC plans to complete this review by June 2013, and the current dumping duty deposit rate will remain in effect until the DOC's final results are published in the Federal Register.

The stainless steel bar subject to this review is currently classifiable under subheadings:
7222.10.00, 7222.11.00, 7222.19.00, 7222.20.00, 7222.30.00 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States.
