Preferential trade deal between Turkey and Iran extended to include steel products

According to a statement issued by Turkey’s Ministry of Economy, Turkey and Iran have agreed to work to eliminate all obstacles in terms of trade relations between the two countries.

The preferential trade agreement which came into force in 2015 between Turkey and Iran, targeting a trade value of $30 billion has been revised to target a trade value of $50 billion. Accordingly, work will start to eliminate all obstacles in the areas of transportation, customs and banking by October this year.

Additionally, media reports stated that the preferential trade agreement has also been revised to include steel and industrial products.
