POSCO completes tailor welded blanks facility
South Korean steel giant POSCO announced the completion of a factory in the southeastern port city of Gwangyang that will produce tailor welded blanks in all shapes for auto components. The new facility includes 2 blanking lines and 7 laser welding lines. Steel sheets in different thicknesses will be cut into various forms and sizes, and will later be laser-welded to meet the diverse needs of automakers. Tailor welded blanks reduces automakers manufacturing costs.
