Polish TFS to lead a merged steel mill

According to recent news in the market, The State Treasury of Poland has prepared a plan to merge domestic producers of steel pipe. A state-owned company Towarzystwo Finansowe Silesia (TFS) is charged with implementation of the plan. The company will restructure the mills in steel industry of Poland. In fact TFS has already started materialization of the plan by acquiring 68% shares from the bankrupt steel mill Huta Andrzej and it started operating the mill on October 16, 2003. The other phase of the merger plan includes take over of Rur-Stal and WRJ Serwis by TFS. The merged company, which will employ approximately 1000 people, will produce 100'000 tons of steel products per annum.
