Peruvian iron ore output up 7.4 percent in January-April

Iron ore production at Peru’s only producer, Shougang Hierro Peru, was up by 8.6 percent year on year in April this year, according to data issued by the country’s mines and energy ministry.
 
Shougang produced 718,227 mt of the commodity in April, up from 661,148 mt in the same month of 2016.
 
In the January-April period of this year, Peruvian iron ore output totaled 2.96 million mt, increasing by 7.4 percent year on year.
