Panzhihua Steel completes Xichang steelmaking project

Sichuan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Panzhihua Iron and Steel (Panzhihua Steel) has announced that on March 14 it formally launched production operations at the new converter No. 2 at its plant located in Xichang, Sichuan. The launch marks the completion of the company's Xichang steelmaking project.
 
Work on the Xichang project commenced in April 2010. In December 2011, Panzhihua Steel launched production at converter No. 1 at its Xichang plant.
