Pakistan’s scrap imports up 48.9 percent in July from June

Pakistan’s scrap imports amounted to 181,178 mt in July this year, increasing by 48.9 percent compared to June and by 7.34 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in the given month was $87.89 million, up by 45.1 percent month on month and down by 14.6 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s iron and steel imports in July amounted to 160,245 mt, falling by 27.9 percent on year-on-year basis and by 23.2 percent compared to the previous month. In the given month, the value of Pakistan’s iron and steel imports was $147.97 million, moving down by 24.8 percent year on year and by 9.9 percent month on month.
