Pakistan’s scrap imports down 3.6 percent in June from May

Pakistan’s scrap imports amounted to 121,677 mt in June this year, decreasing by 3.6 percent compared to May and by 49.6 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in the given month was $60.58 million, down by 11.2 percent month on month and by 60.8 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s iron and steel imports in June amounted to 208,668 mt, falling by 50.1 percent on year-on-year basis and increasing by 18.2 percent compared to the previous month. In the given month, the value of Pakistan’s iron and steel imports was $164.28 million, moving down by 49.2 percent year on year and advancing by 16.4 percent month on month.
