Pakistan to reduce duties on billet imports

According to recent industry news, Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) permitted Pakistan steel mills to import billets with the purpose of encouraging construction and housing industry, stabilizing steel prices and compensate billet deficit of 500'000 metric tons. The customs duty on billet imports are planned to be reduced from 20% to 10%.
