Turkish steel
pipe producer Ozbal Celik Boru Inc. has opened its new integrated steel
pipe production facility in the Mersin Tarsus Organized Industry Zone in southern
Turkey.
Completed within one year with an investment totaling $20 million, the facility will supply multi-partner international projects, including infrastructure
investments in
Europe, Africa, the
Middle East and the Turkic Republics.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ozbal Celik Boru chairman Yucehan Ozture stressed that the company is placed among
Turkey's top 1,000 exporters, so far exporting to many countries such as Japan, France, Britain, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Azerbaijan, Algeria, Morocco, Jordan, Guinea, Syria, Iraq, Bulgaria and Georgia.
Stating that they are one of six Turkish companies who have been certified to produce spiral welded steel
pipe for the Nabucco Project, Mr. Ozture said, "We assume that this project will be initiated at the end of this year or in early 2012. We aim to claim a big share in this project which is planned to be completed within three years."
The annual
production output capacity of 75,000 mt of the company will increase to 150,000 mt with this new investment. The new facility will produce steel pipes in a diameter range of 20 cm to 3 meters. This investment will also allow the company to increase its number of employees from 200 to 400.
