Outokumpu to supply heat-resistant stainless steel for Indian power plant

Finland-based stainless steel producer Outokumpu has announced that it is to supply more than 700 mt of high-performance stainless steel grade from its European mills to the Indian engineering company, Thermax Limited, for the construction of a thermal power plant in India.

Outokumpu's austenitic 253 MA grade stainless steel is widely used in thermal power plants as it withstands very high temperatures. Thermax operates in the areas of energy and the environment and it is a major player in the design and construction of boilers for thermal power plants in India.
