Contrary to some Finnish media reports on April 1, Finland-based stainless steel producer Outokumpu has confirmed that it is fully committed to the Fennovoima nuclear power project in Finland.

Outokumpu has close to a 10 percent stake in the Fennovoima project, which got a parliamentary decision-in-principle last summer to construct a new nuclear power plant in Finland. "The project is important in securing the group's long-term cost-competitiveness," reads the company's statement.
