In the week from September 19 to September 25, scrap index values in the Orbis Steel Index have increased. While the Turkish rebar index followed a downward movement after two weeks of upward movement, all the flat rolled products moved downward compared to the previous week.
As per the Orbis Steel Index data, the index movements in the week from September 19 to September 25 as per product are as follows:
Turkish Scrap Index started to increase this week. Index value climbed by 0.25 percent to 193.08.
US (East Coast) HMS I/II Scrap Export Index increased by 0.57 percent to 206.35 compared to the previous week.
Turkish Rebar Index decreased by 0.31 percent to 178.52 compared to the previous week.
Turkish HRC Index continued to decrease with the index value dropping 1.31 percent week on week to 122.76.
Black Sea HRC Export Index started to decrease this week. The index value dropped 2.3 percent to 130.81.
Turkish HDG Index decreased by 0.8 percent to 117.35 compared to the previous week.
Turkish CRC Index decreased by 1.65 percent compared to the previous week. The index value dropped to 122.6.

Turkish Scrap Index: Based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of domestic ferrous scrap purchased weekly by Turkish steel mills, and imported HMS 80/20 CFR Turkey.
Turkish Rebar Index: Based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality deformed steel reinforcing bars produced and sold by Turkish mills and subsequently merchants, both in the domestic market on ex-warehouse basis and for export on FOB Turkey basis.
Turkish HRC Index: Based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality HRC produced or imported, and then sold by Turkish mills on ex-warehouse basis.
