Russia-based pipe producer United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has stated that in the July-August period this year it shipped more than 30,000 mt of large diameter (LP) pipes for the construction of the Power of Siberia gas transmission system. OMK has thus fully fulfilled its obligations under the contract for the supply of LD pipes for the construction of Power of Siberia, which was concluded between Vyksa Steel Works (a part of OMK Group) and Russian gas monopoly Gazprom in 2013.

The pipes with length of 12 meters and diameter of 1,420 mm with wall thickness of 21.7 mm, with inner and outer polyethylene coating, were produced by Vyksa Steel Works. Sheet of the K60 strength class for production of LD pipes was also produced by Vyksa Steel Works at its large iron rolling mill MKS-5000 from steel billet made by Russian steelmaker NLMK.
