OMK issues results of new foundry and rolling facility for first five months

Russian steel and pipe producer OMK has announced that in February its new foundry and rolling facility for the first time achieved its monthly production targets, and has produced 100,000 mt of rolled steel products in the first five months since its commissioning.

Having commenced operations in October 2008, OMK's new foundry and rolling facility has up to now delivered 68,000 mt of high quality rolled steel products to the electro-welded workshops of Vyksa Steel Works and Almetyevsk Pipe Plant, and has mastered the production of St3Sp, 20, 22GU middle and low carbon steel grades. Currently, OMK is developing production of 10, 13 G1SU steel grades, and later plans to develop production of 09GSF, 13HFA, 17G1SU and 09G2SU steel grades.

According to OMK's production plan, its new facility will output one million mt of rolled steel products in 2009.
