Russian steel and pipe producer OMK has announced that in May this year its foundry and rolling facility for the first time since its commissioning produced more than 90,000 mt of hot rolled coils and 20,000 mt of steel sheets in one month, fulfilling its production program for the month at a rate of 102 percent.
OMK's deliveries for May this year to the main consumers of the products of its foundry and rolling facility, namely its subsidiaries Vyksa Steel Works and Almetyevsk Pipe Plant, and also for export, amounted to 91,836 mt. The shipment plan for May was fulfilled at a rate of 101 percent.
In 2010, OMK's foundry and rolling facility plans to produce more than 1 million mt of products and to develop the production of eight new steel grades.
