OMK issues Jan-Feb production data for subsidiaries

The Russian pipe producing company United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has announced the production results of its subsidiaries Nizhni Novgorod-based pipe producer Vyksa Steel Works (Vyksa) and Perm region-based Gubakha Coke for February and for the first two months of 2009.

Vyksa's production of pipes in February 2009 amounted to 119,441 mt - down 3.3 percent year on year. However, the mill's output of large diameter (LD) pipes during the period in question increased by 46.3 percent year on year to 88,727 mt. In January-February 2009, Vyksa produced 215,385 mt of pipes - down 4.9 percent year on year, including 153,402 mt of LD pipes - up 40.2 percent.

In February 2009, Gubakha Coke successfully achieved its monthly production targets, producing 16,300 mt of coke. During the first two months of 2009, Gubakha Coke's production of coke amounted to 34,400 mt.
