United Metallurgical Company (OMK) held negotiations with Iran's largest oil and gas companies on the delivery of medium-diameter pipes. The meetings were held at the 2006 Iran Oil Show International Exhibition of Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Industries and Products in Tehran, where the OMK was represented by Vyksa Steel Works. According to Nikolay Zaitsev, Executive Director of the OMK, Iran intends to implement several major pipeline projects, in which the OMK wants to participate as a pipe supplier. Vyksa Steel Works division of the OMK is one of the largest producers of pipe for oil and gas transportation in Russia, controlling approximately 17 percent of the Russian consumer market with a total annual capacity of 950,000 tons.
