OECD annual inflation rate up to 2.4 percent in April

The annual inflation rate of the 34 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member countries increased to 2.4 percent in April this year, compared to 2.3 percent in the previous month, according to the latest figures. 
 
Excluding food and energy, annual inflation increased slightly to 1.9 percent in April, compared with 1.8 percent in March.
 
Compared with March, annual inflation in April decreased to 2.2 percent in the US from 2.4 percent and remained stable in Canada at 1.6 percent. In April as compared with March, annual inflation increased to 1.9 percent in Italy from 1.4 percent, moved up to 2.0 percent in Germany from 1.6 percent, rose to 2.7 percent in the United Kingdom from 2.3 percent, increased to 0.4 percent in Japan from 0.2 percent and grew to 1.2 percent in France from 1.1 percent.
