OECD annual inflation rate stable at 2.3 percent in April

The annual inflation rate of the 34 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member countries was stable at 2.3 percent in April this year, when compared to the previous month, according to the latest figures.

Excluding food and energy, annual inflation decreased slightly to 1.9 percent in April, compared with two percent in March.

Compared with March, annual inflation in April decreased to 0.6 percent in Japan from 1.1 percent and fell to 0.5 percent in Italy from 0.8 percent. In April as compared with the previous month, annual inflation was down to 2.2 percent in the UK and Canada from 2.3 percent, grew slightly to 2.5 percent in the US from 2.4 percent, while it remained unchanged at 1.6 percent in France and Germany.
