NSSMC signs agreement with India’s MMTC Limited for iron ore purchase

The world's second biggest steelmaker Japan-based Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. (NSSMC) has announced that it has signed a contract with MMTC Limited, a public corporation in India that sells iron ore, to purchase between 1.8 million mt and 2.6 million mt of iron ore per year for a span of three years.

NSSMC stated that MMTC’s iron ore exports to Japan were approved at an Indian cabinet meeting in June this year and, through this contract, it will continue its favorable relationship with India in the future, and will strive to realize stable procurement of iron ore.
