Australia-based iron ore developer NSL Consolidated (NSL) has announced that Kurnool iron ore beneficiation plant being built in southeast India is on track to commence sales, with first sales scheduled for the end of June.

Start-up has commenced at NSL's Mangal mine to produce the first mainstream ore that will provide sustained plant feedstock once the plant moves from commissioning to steady production. NSL expects a steady production rate of 200,000 mt per year in the first phase of operations at Kurnool.

NSL, the first foreign company granted permission to own and operate iron ore mines in India, started the construction of the beneficiation plant in October 2011.
