Northwest Pipe receives $7 million pipe supply order

Portland, Oregon-based Northwest Pipe Company (Northwest Pipe) has announced the receipt of a pipe supply order for the Tecate Hydroelectric Project for the state of Baja California, Mexico. Under the scope of the contract with Mexican company Cableados Industriales SA de CV (CISA), Northwest Pipe is to supply about 15,000 feet of 54" steel pipe valued at approximately $7 million for an engineered and custom fabricated piping system. The pipes will be produced at Northwest Pipe’s Adelanto, California division, with shipment scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2009. CISA will build and operate the Tecate Hydroelectric Project for approximately two years. The ultimate owner of the project will be the state of Baja California and the State Water Commission.
