Northern part of Hebei Steel Group’s Sijiaying iron mine expanded

Chinese steel producer Hebei Iron and Steel Group has announced that China's Department of Land and Resources has officially expanded the northern part of its Sijiaying iron ore mine, located in southern Luan county in Tangshan in Hebei Province, adding the Yinyu iron ore mining area. Accordingly, the mining area covered by the northern part of the Sijiaying iron ore mine has increased from 4.1176 km² to 6.2722 km². The newly-added iron ore reserves amount to 295 million mt.

The total proven iron ore reserves of the northern part of the Sijiaying iron ore mine have increased to 909.8 million mt. The expected annual output of the expanded iron ore mining area is 22.7 million mt.
