On June 26, the five leading northern Chinese mills - Shougang, Tangshan Steel, Xuanhua Steel, Tianjin Steel, and Chengde Steel - announced their July prices for longs. All prices remained unchanged compared with June levels. The details are as follows:
1. Rebar
The ex-factory price of 16-25 mm diameter HRB 335 rebar is RMB 3,510/mt ($461/mt), while that of 12-14 mm stays at RMB 3,860/mt ($507/mt). 16-25 mm diameter HRB 400 rebar costs RMB 3,640/mt ($478/mt), while 12-14 mm is now at RMB 3,990/mt ($524/mt).
2. Wire rod
The price of 6.5 mm diameter Q235 high speed wire rod now costs RMB 3,570/mt ($469/mt).
All the above prices include 17 percent VAT and are effective as of July 1, 2007.
