According to the most recent report by Baker Hughes, the weekly US rotary rig count decreased 11 to 1650 for the week ending September 24. This reflects a year-on-year increase of 633 rigs.

The Canadian rig count decreased by 51 from last week and is now at 282, representing a 54 year-over-year increase.  Baker Hughes attributed the significant weekly rig count decline to "rigs transitioning to completions work, in addition to "the completion of drilling on the two relief wells."
