NMDC’s iron ore output down 3.4 percent in August

Indian state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in August this year it produced 1.41 million mt of iron ore, registering a decrease of 3.4 percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 1.49 million mt, declining by 35.8 percent year on year.

In the first eight months of this year, NMDC’s iron ore production totaled 11.81 million mt, rising by 19.9 percent year on year, while its iron ore sales totaled 12.62 million mt, increasing by 14.3 percent as compared to the same period of the previous year.

In August, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 620,000 mt, down 21.5 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines increased by 17.9 percent to 790,000 mt, both year on year.
