NMDC sees 14.8 percent increase in iron ore output for April-December

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that during the first nine months ended December 31 of the financial year 2013-14 its iron ore output amounted to 20.17 million mt, up 14.8 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. In the given period, the company's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines stood at 6.7 million mt, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines was 13.5 million mt.
 
During the April-December period, NMDC's iron ore shipments increased by 16.2 percent year on year to 21.25 million mt.
