NMDC in talks to acquire coal mines in Mozambique and Russia

Indian state-owned National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) is in talks to acquire coal mines worth $300 million in Mozambique and Russia, according to international media reports.

NMDC intends to acquire 360 million mt of deposits in Mozambique's Tete province and an 80 million mt mine in the Kemorovo region in Russia to provide raw material for its steelmaking plants planned to be established in India.
