NLMK’s Q1 finished steel output up 5.3% compared to Q4

Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced its production and sales data for the first quarter of the current year. According to the company statement, NLMK's crude steel output in the first quarter increased to 3.692 million mt, up 0.5 percent compared to the previous quarter, while its production of finished steel increased by 5.3 percent quarter on quarter to 3.8 million mt.

The total sales volume of finished steel products of NLMK Group in the first quarter amounted to 3.753 million mt, up two percent quarter on quarter, including around 2.2 million mt of flat steel, 0.4 million mt of long steel products and metalware and approximately 1.1 million mt of slabs.

NLMK also stated that it plans to increase its crude steel production in the second quarter by 4-5 percent compared to the same period last year, to around 3.8 million mt.
