The Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has issued the second quarter 2007 production results for itself and its subsidiaries.
Accordingly, in Q2 of 2007, NLMK produced 2.11 million metric tons of pig iron - down 9.2 percent, 2.2 million metric tons of crude steel - down 4.3 percent, 917,000 metric tons of slabs - down 6.1 percent, 421,000 metric tons of hot rolled products (including HRC supplied to VIZ-Stal) - up 2.2 percent, 413,000 metric tons of cold rolled products - down 10.5 percent, 136,000 metric tons of HDG - up 30.7 percent, 94,000 metric tons of pre-painted steel - up 18.9 percent, 97,000 metric tons of non-grain-oriented steel - up 17.5 percent and 37,000 metric tons of grain-oriented steel - up 6.8 percent, all compared to the corresponding period of 2006.
During the period in question, NLMK's Danish subsidiary DanSteel A/S increased its heavy plate production by 16.2 percent year on year to 129,000 metric tons.
VIZ-Stal registered a 26.4 percent increase in its non-oriented steel output and a 4.8 percent increase in its grain-oriented steel output year on year to 48,000 metric tons and to 6,000 metric tons respectively in Q2 of 2007.
NLMK's iron ore subsidiary Stoilensky GOK showed a 4.5 percent increase in its iron ore concentrate production and an 18.9 percent increase in its sinter ore output year on year in the April-June 2007 period. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.95 million and 452,000.
Finally, during the period in question Altai-koks produced 1.045 million metric tons of coke, showing a 62.3 percent year on year increase.
