NLMK and SMS group implement project

Leading Russian steel producer NLMK Group has announced that it has signed a contract with Germany-based SMS Group for full-time service of key process equipment at the BOF Shops at its Lipetsk production site.

Maintenance of steelmaking operations at such a scale has been outsourced in Russia for the first time: productivity of the BOF Shops at the Lipetsk site exceeds 12.5 million mt per year. 

As part of a five-year contract, SMS Group experts will ensure the maintenance and repair of all nine continuous casting machines and secondary metallurgy treatment equipment.
