A new long steel producing mini-mill is to be constructed in Russia's Voronezh region by 2014 with investments amounting to Ruble 810 million (about $26.75 million), the Interfax news agency has reported.
Accordingly, the new rebar producing facility is to be constructed in 2.5 years from the date of the site's allocation. About 80 percent of the mill's products will be delivered to the domestic construction industry, while the rest will be shipped to the machine building industry. The production capacity of the mill has not been disclosed yet.
Another facility that could be constructed on the industrial site not far from the rebar producing mini-mill is a plant for the production of steel structures with an expected production capacity of 1,000 mt per month.
