New vehicle sales in Mexico up 12.6 percent in May

New vehicle sales in Mexico increased 12.6 percent, year-over-year, in May to 102,697 units, the 13th consecutive annual increase, according to a SteelOrbis analysis of data from national statistics agency Inegi. The May sales total is the seventh time it has exceeded 100,000 units a month in the past 41 months.

In the accumulated five months of 2023, 515,433 units were sold, 20.4 percent more compared to the same period last year.

INEGI information comes from the records of three companies and the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA), which brings together 22 vehicle assemblers.
