New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 4.9% in Apr from Mar

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 9.7 percent year on year to 106,986 units and were up by 4.9 percent on month-on-month basis.
 
New passenger car registrations in April this year totaled 64,570 units, increasing by 7.9 percent as compared to March and down 6.4 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 60.4 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
 
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in April increased by 1.3 percent month on month and were down 12.9 percent year on year, amounting to 15,683 units. Small truck registrations constituted 14.7 percent of total new registrations in April this year.
