New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 13.5% in June from May

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 17 percent year on year to 95,608 units and were down by 13.5 percent on month-on-month basis.

New passenger car registrations in June totaled 58,469 units, decreasing by nine percent as compared to May and down 21 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 61.2 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in June decreased by 29.6 percent month on month and were down 20.6 percent year on year, amounting to 11,882 units. Small truck registrations constituted 12.4 percent of total new registrations in June.
