SteelOrbis Shanghai Six governmental ministries and the National Development and Reform Commission held on February 22, the meeting of analysis on coke export. The government will take measures such as strictly controlling the coke production capacity, environmental examination, getting rid of the outdated coking technology, ensuring healthy development of China's coke industry and maintaining a stable coke export situation. The exporting enterprises who participated in the meeting stated that the problems such as excess supply, pollution, as well as cutthroat competition would be tackled with the implementation of the restructuring measures. The export price of coke in 2006 is expected to go up due to the increase in coke production cost as a result of the spending on environment protection.
