New car registrations in Germany remain stable in September

In September this year, new passenger car registrations in Germany remained unchanged at 224,500 units compared to the same month of 2022, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Meanwhile, in the first nine months of this year, new passenger car registrations moved up by 14.0 percent year on year to 2,138,100 units.

According to the VDA, in September new registrations of electric vehicles decreased by 35.0 percent year on year to 47,120 units. In the January-September period this year, new registrations of electric vehicles amounted to 510,900 units, moving up by five percent year on year.

In September, German passenger car manufacturers produced 340,500 units, down eight percent compared to September 2022. In the first nine months of the year, passenger car manufacturers produced 2,340,100 units, up 22.0 percent from the same period of last year.
