New car registrations in EU up 17.9 percent in January-March

In March this year, new passenger car registrations in the EU rose by 28.8 percent year on year to 1,087,939 units, according to the European association of car manufacturers ACEA.

In the given month, all major countries, including Spain (+66.1%), Italy (+40.7%), Germany (+16.6%) and France (+24.2%), reported positive results.

In the first quarter of this year, new car registrations grew by 17.9 percent year on year to 2,650,711 units. Spain saw the sharpest rise with an increase of 44.5 percent, followed by Italy (+26.2%), France (+15.2%) and Germany (+6.5%), year on year.
