NDRC: China relocates about 18,000 steel workers in 2016

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has announced that China achieved its capacity reduction goals for 2016, eliminating 45 million mt of steel capacity and 250 million mt of coal capacity ahead of schedule. 
 
Meanwhile, the NDRC stated that in 2016 China relocated about 18,000 workers in the steel industry and about 62,000 workers in the coal sector.
