On September 1, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced that during last week (August 24-30) the overall average finished steel price in China decreased by 0.9 percent week on week.
In the given week, average prices of common hot rolled sheet and high-speed wire rod in China decreased by 1.3 percent and 1.2 percent week on week, respectively.
In the same week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the previous week. The average price of nickel (Ni >= 99.2%) declined by 4.8 percent compared to the previous week.
In addition, in the week in question, the average price of coal in China remained stable week on week. In particular, the average prices of thermal coal and coking coal remained basically stable week on week, while the average price of anthracite coal increased by 0.1 percent week on week.
