MOC: Average finished steel price in China moves down slightly

On May 13, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced that during last week (May 5-11) the overall average finished steel price in China declined by 0.2 percent compared to the previous week.

In the given week, the average prices of I-shaped section steel, H-section steel and common round bar all decreased by 0.3 percent week on week.

In the given week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China declined by 1.8 percent compared to the previous week. The average price of nickel (Ni >= 99.2%) rose by 5.6 percent week on week.

In addition, in the week in question, the average price of energy in China increased by 0.3 percent week on week. The average prices of brown coal, bituminous coal and anthracite coal increased by 2.6 percent, 1.3 percent and 1.1 percent week on week respectively in the given week. Meanwhile, the average price of crude oil decreased by 2.5 percent, while the average price of metallurgical coke remained stable, both week on week.
