MOC: Average finished steel price in China fluctuates within limited range

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (January 30-February 5) the overall average finished steel price in China fluctuated within a limited range.

In the given week, average prices of common round steel and hot dip galvanized (HDG) sheet in China rose by 0.4 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively, while average prices of seamless steel pipe and H-beam both declined by 0.2 percent, all week on week. Meanwhile, average prices of rebar and high-speed wire rod remained stable week on week. 

In the same week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China decreased by 0.4 percent week on week. The average price of nickel (Ni> = 99.2%) increased by 0.2 percent compared to the previous week.

In the week in question, the average price of coal in China increased by 0.3 percent week on week. In particular, the average prices of thermal coal and coking coal moved up by 0.4 percent and 0.1 percent week on week, respectively, while the average price of anthracite coal remained stable.
