Mobarakeh Steel to produce steel sheets less than two mm in thickness

Iranian steel producer Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) has announced that it will start production of steel sheets less than two mm in thickness, which is at present being imported into the country, in order to meet part of domestic demand.

MSC stated that it will start producing and selling steel sheets with a thickness of 1.8 mm in the two months to July 21 this year.

Meanwhile, the company aims to sell 7.6 million mt of steel sheets in the current financial year, up by around 600,000 mt over sales in the 12 months to March 20, 2018. In addition, overall steel sales of the Mobarakeh Steel Group, which includes Mobarakeh Steel Company, Hormozgan Steel Company, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Automotive Sheets Company, Kashan Amir Kabir Steel Company, and Taraz Steel Company, are expected to total 9.6 million mt in the current fiscal year.
