MMZ’s crude steel output down 41 percent in August from July

In August this year, Moldavian Metallurgical Works (MMZ), a steelmaker based in the Transnistrian region of Moldova, produced 35,472 mt of crude steel, decreasing by 41 percent, and 30,187 mt of rolled products, down 41.8 percent  including 13,091mt of reinforcing bars, down 37.5 percent, and 17,096 mt of wire rod, declining by 44.8 percent, all month on month. The company’s rolled product shipments in August totaled 28,662 mt.
 
MMZ expects to produce 45,000 mt of crude steel and 38,000 mt of rolled steel products in September this year, to be consumed in the EU, Moldova and Ukraine.
