MMZ repairs electric arc furnace No. 2

Moldavian Metallurgical Plant (MMZ) has announced that on Februry 24 it started an eight-day overhaul of electric arc furnace No. 2 and its auxiliary equipment.

The overhaul will include the replacement of the EAF's combustion chamber, the  repair of the EAF tilting platform's steel structures, the repair of the ladle transportation railway, and the repair of the furnace foundation.

According to the preliminary data, in February up to the 24th of the month, MMZ produced 44,784 mt of crude steel and 32,418 mt of rolled steel products. MMZ's deliveries during the period in question amounted to 32,014 mt of steel products.

On February 24, MMZ's reserves of metal charge stood at 20,102 mt.
